This page displays information about the ARTCC as a whole. The diagram shows the ARTCC border and primary airports for reference with a line in the center indicating the 'split' for when IND_CTR is split East & West. The State lines are for reference to the area covered by the ARTCC.
The splits used at ZID, although other combinations exist, are primarily the following:
IND_CTR - General operations, one combined position. A number in the middle indicates a relief position (i.e.; IND_1_CTR)
IND_E_CTR - This position provides ATC services in the East ARTCC area from the surface up
IND_W_CTR - This position provides ATC services in the West ARTCC area from the surface up
IND_H_CTR - This position provides ATC services across the entire ARTCC from FL240 up
IND_L_CTR - This position provides ATC services across the entire ARTCC from FL230 and below
You may also see combinations of the positions (i.e.; IND_HE_CTR, IND_LW_CTR, etc.) where the airspace covered could be determined by combining the position responsibilities from the above list.
